I love the fact that for a few hours, there was this huge lull in Tumblr posts because we were all in a hot, stuffy room with balloons and music and heaps of food, enjoying ourselves

Anthropology studies gets exciting every week. This week, we study the priority seats in MRT trains. Why do people sit on priority seats/ reserved seats? Why do they not give up their seats to those who are in need?
We also got to take trains from Woodlands to Ang Mo Kio during class time to do some observation of human behaviour towards priority seats. Heh. Shiok.

I just read Freakonomics (you should too) and I wish I had the time to answer these questions!

THE UNBIRTHDAY PARTY IS NEXT FRIDAY, 6:30 AT CASUAL POET

letsmeetinsg:

EVERYONE IS INVITED, NOT JUST SINGAPOREANS (AND MUST BRING $10)

THE THEME IS ‘WE ARE PEOPLE OF COLOUR’ (SO WEAR YOUR MOST COLOURFUL CLOTHES)

INSTRUMENTS ARE WELCOME, THERE WILL BE A CAMCORDER PRESENT

I’M VERY EXCITED AS YOU CAN TELL

RSVP HERE AND IF YOU DON’T HAVE FACEBOOK, JUST TELL ME OKAY?

OOF I NEARLY FORGOT TO PUT INFORMATION FOR CASUAL POET

If any of you can’t get your head around the directions to Casual Poet, we can arrange to meet at Chinatown MRT and walk there together. Not me though, I’ll be too busy prancing around Casual Poet and getting stuff ready.

More info about the Unbirthday Party...?

letsmeetinsg:

1. We don’t know the location yet, but I have e-mailed Casual Poet.

If any of you know a quaint, affordable place which is cool with us folk just kicking back and mingling and bringing catering, let me know!

2. Sab (hazardlights) and I (najmetender) thought of organizing it on the next Wednesday evening, but I’m open to making it on a day which is more suitable to everyone within the next week and a half (and make it possible for us to get the Tumblr merch as well)

3. I must let everyone know that to make the event possible, everyone will have to bring between 10 to 15 bucks to enjoy catering and the location as I am not a rich person. If I was rich, we would be having this party at the Maldives.

4. Oh look everyone it’s the Facebook Event Link :D

Spreading the word. I probably can’t be there, so you kids have fun!

thoughts on our next album.

amateurtakescontrol:

so i’ve been thinking a lot about our next album and the release of it. as of now the band has probably only 1 thousand plus bucks to record our songs with. We currently have 3 complete songs and a few new ones that i’ve written for the band. Like i mentioned earlier, we’ll be working with bani haykal on some tracks with spoken word poetry so that might add a different feel to the songs pretty excited for that collaboration.

financially, we’re pretty weak for now cause we’re all in NS and i’m still schooling so the money we get don’t really go to our music. maybe just for the jamming sessions. even though isa and syadie are busy in camp, we’re all still all very motivated and will get together every chance we get to jam out our new songs and get them ready for recording.

our label, kittywu records (errol and lesley), will not be contributing financially to our next release, for an understandable reason of course. they just got a new house, and will be having their wedding next year and will have the responsibilities of all married couples and we totally feel for them. they’ve helped us come a long way and helped spread our music to far places and we are very grateful. Don’t worry, we’re still with kittywu records! they’re still our managers/promoters/distro people. why i mentioned what i mentioned is to answer some questions in advance pertaining the subject i’ll be discussing in the next few paragraphs. :) KITTYWU RECORDS WE LOVE YOU.

we are interested to work with a small local company. a company (or whose owner) loves our music and would love to spare a few thousands for a good cause (the band and the community). as a band whose music is mainly inspired by the daily happenings in life and lately with current social/political events happening around the world, we would like to help the community with our next album. this may sound a bit “pretentious” or “overly noble” for a small local band like us but with our next album, we do not intend to make a single cent. it might sound crazy, silly or even stupid but it’s true. if we spend 1000 on recording, we don’t intend to get that money back even if we break even. if we break even, that money will go towards a charitable cause (we’re still looking around). so that is a 1000 bucks going to charity from us.

let’s face it. we’re all just 19. 2/3 of us are in NS, and I will be in NS next year. it’ll take us another 2-3 years before we can actually start taking this band very seriously and tour overseas and then hopefully getting somewhere with our music. all we want to do and can do right now is to be able to write quality music, get it down on record and help and inspire as many people as we can with our music.

if you have a friend, family member or a contact who might be interested in helping us out with the album and thus helping the community, do let us know and do spread the word for us. it’s very important though, that they believe in us and our music. we would love to talk to them if they do. :)

thank you for reading.

we are grateful for your support! xx

ATC
