I love the fact that for a few hours, there was this huge lull in Tumblr posts because we were all in a hot, stuffy room with balloons and music and heaps of food, enjoying ourselves

THE UNBIRTHDAY PARTY IS NEXT FRIDAY, 6:30 AT CASUAL POET
EVERYONE IS INVITED, NOT JUST SINGAPOREANS (AND MUST BRING $10)
THE THEME IS ‘WE ARE PEOPLE OF COLOUR’ (SO WEAR YOUR MOST COLOURFUL CLOTHES)
INSTRUMENTS ARE WELCOME, THERE WILL BE A CAMCORDER PRESENT
I’M VERY EXCITED AS YOU CAN TELL
RSVP HERE AND IF YOU DON’T HAVE FACEBOOK, JUST TELL ME OKAY?
OOF I NEARLY FORGOT TO PUT INFORMATION FOR CASUAL POET
If any of you can’t get your head around the directions to Casual Poet, we can arrange to meet at Chinatown MRT and walk there together. Not me though, I’ll be too busy prancing around Casual Poet and getting stuff ready.
More info about the Unbirthday Party...?
1. We don’t know the location yet, but I have e-mailed Casual Poet.
If any of you know a quaint, affordable place which is cool with us folk just kicking back and mingling and bringing catering, let me know!
2. Sab (hazardlights) and I (najmetender) thought of organizing it on the next Wednesday evening, but I’m open to making it on a day which is more suitable to everyone within the next week and a half (and make it possible for us to get the Tumblr merch as well)
3. I must let everyone know that to make the event possible, everyone will have to bring between 10 to 15 bucks to enjoy catering and the location as I am not a rich person. If I was rich, we would be having this party at the Maldives.
4. Oh look everyone it’s the Facebook Event Link :D
Spreading the word. I probably can’t be there, so you kids have fun!
Nerf (Justin) climbed onto a table to write Tumblr on the high part of the wall!Hahaha and SIGH really no one noticed the little ‘secret’ at the other corner, and I forgot to take a pict of it! =S
where is this?
Casual Poet, Chinatown. The place’s interesting/fun, signboard in the middle of nowhere. =)
Tumblr Mystery Night
Forgive the late posting, but my net’s been down. See y’all tomorrow!
Just to update on everyone who hasn’t heard:
Hey y’all!
Okay so I met up with sabzolkifi and readmysoul to discuss the details of the Tumblr Meetup which will take place THIS FRIDAY at CASUAL POET.
The theme of the party will be Murder Mystery.
A gruesome death will happen (very conveniently) on the day of the Tumblr Meetup and the Murderer must be revealed by the end of the evening!
What happens is that as soon as people RSVP, they will be assigned a character who is related to the poor victim and will receive one clue they can reveal and one clue they must conceal.
If possible, come in character! You must be willing to play the part!
No one, including us, will know who the murderer or the detective is.
For more information or if I didn’t make sense at all in the post, please e-mail me at najmahsalam@gmail.com!
AND
An update.
I am the unfortunate deceased, a very popular and obnoxious celebrity blogger who died a gruesome death.
In life, I had all the charm of a wet sponge but still managed to draw people to my blog with dimwitted ramblings and pictures of food I ate at expensive restaurants.
Everyone who comes to the party has their own motives to kill me, but only ONE is the murderer.
I will mostly float around, giving clues that may or may not be false. Ask me the right question and I may give you the right answer. (OooooOoOoOooooooo)
All who come will each receive a numbered packet with their character inside, a pen and a piece of paper.
By the end of the evening everyone must have filled out the piece of paper with the numbers and the corresponding characters. Whoever guesses the murderer and the relation of each character to me, the victim, wins!
And the deets are:
Wow I’m getting quite a response guys!
This is brilliant! The more people the merrier and the kookier characters I can come up with the mix up the plot. Muahaha! If we have more people I can add in weapons… hee hee hee!
Alright so what I can finalise is:
This Friday. Casual Poet. 3pm - 8pm.
Set?
I’ll be making the reservations ASAP but if they can’t give us that time I’ll think of something else but tentatively, that is the plan y’all. Keep yourselves free!
Also, should I be giving you guys characters before the day itself so that we can all come in appropriate costume? Tell me what you think. I’ve enabled comments!
ARE YOU READAYYYYYY??!!!!
Everyone must be damn on, okay?
UNTUMBLARITY
Here’s an updated userscript that hides the Tumblarity score from your dashboard. I’ve only tested it briefly (since I’m writing this at 4am after a delicious seafood supper) with Greasekit and Safari 4, but it should work with Greasemonkey et al. Please refer to userscripts.org for more info on userscripts.
If you were using my no-follower-count script you can remove or disable it now.
Technical info: I’m using negative margins to hide every menu item, then positive margins to push back the ones we want. Couldn’t think of a way to hide just the Tumblarity line since only half of it is wrapped in an <a>.

Hey
I’m writing this now because I don’t know if I will have the time tomorrow. On Thursday I will be entering the Singapore Armed Forces, the start of my two years of compulsory conscription. I am among the last of my peers around my age to do so; many friends have recently completed their two years. I’ve heard the tales and the complaints and even the rare thanksgivings, and I’ve gotten bored of them, they have become mundane, as if I have already served my time, but now I feel strangely unprepared.
It goes without saying — and what an odd figure of speech, because it obviously needs saying — that I won’t be here on the interwebs so much, moving crap from one dark corner to another, occasionally adding to the trail of garbage that you feed on so uncomplainingly.
So, to followers old and new, and friends who read this shit everyday even though they don’t understand the internet or Tumblr or what the deal is with funny pictures of cats:
I’ll see you when I see you.
"Hide follower count" script update
Should now hide the follower count on all your tumblrs, not just the primary one (e.g. group tumblrs that you manage). Get it here. If you’d like to only hide the follower count on your main tumblr, stick to the old script.
Tested with Greasekit for Safari. Instructions on the original post.
New: Drafts + Queue
Three new features are available today!
While these are all appealing new features, I think you guys are marketing them all wrong.
For example, “Add to Queue” should be renamed “Make It Look Like I Wasn’t Sitting at Home Reblogging at 10:30pm on a Saturday Night.” Now that is a premium feature worth paying for!
I think the immediacy of the dashboard is one of the great things about Tumblr. When a post appears you know the person is online right now and you can reblog and maybe start a conversation. Now you might be trying to chat up some robot gatekeeper?
haha I just had to try
edit: and now I can’t find my original icon… It featured my J&D 7-string guitar. I broke one of the bolts on the bridge and it’s been sitting in a bag for the past 2 years :( oh and my favourite pair of jeans throughout secondary school. Kickers, never been a fan of the shoes, but those straight cut jeans were cheap and fit the needs of an unfashionable schoolboy perfectly. Now everything is skinny. Insert nostalgic sigh.
